Congratulations to MARK IT ZERO

Hypothermia, 2008 Photos

Hypothermia 2008 is officially in the books, and I'd like to say thanks to everyone who came out. It was a great weekend, and I think just about every team played hard and with good spirit. Again, thank you.

Some quick recaps:

On Saturday, the teams were divided into two pools of six, with Ronin, UF-A, For the Story, Gainesville Masters, The Dirty Birds, and UF-B on one side, while Mark it Zero, UpRoar, Cono, the Hogtown Wailers, Fattitude, and the Helen Keller Experience filled out the other half.

The results on Saturday fell the way most expected, with the exception of a surprisingly strong Gainesville Masters team upsetting For the Story. Other than that, all the seeds held. Mind you, there were some close ones: Fatittude almost took out the Wailers, the Wailers almost took out Cono, Gainesville Masters almost took out UF-A, and UpRoar almost upset Mark it Zero. The operative word, of course, is "almost." As for Ronin, they cruised, surrendering perhaps five points during the course of the day.

On Sunday, cascading elimination play began. Ronin took care of business and knocked off a feisty Wailers crew, while MIZ, UpRoar, and UF-A did the same, taking downCono, Gainesville Masters, and For the Story respectively.

In the Semis, Mark it Zero beat UF-A, while UpRoar scored the upset of the tournament (and the century) by taking out Ronin. Mark it Zero then repeated their performance of Saturday and won the A Bracket against UpRoar.

Other Results: The Wailers took the B-Bracket by going through UF-B, Gainesville Masters, and For the Story.

The Helen Keller Experience and the Dirty Birds teamed up as "Dirty Experience" and split the C-Bracket. It's hard to explain, I know, but it happened. I was there.
