Round 1
“No
Fear” (3-2) vs. “Hell’s Bells” (4-1)
Despite Hell’s Bells' near-perfect season, No Fear is going to make a
comeback and take the win. With the help of some good popping, Royal Blue will
work Silver’s zone D and run down the field on defense time and time
again. After suffering two losses last
week as a result of a crappy team turnout (3 dudes, 5 dudettes), No Fear is
hungry for a win and will stop at nothing to wring Hell’s Bells. And of course
my affiliation with this team has no bearing on my prediction. No Fear by 15.
Ok ok, by 3.
“Red
Scare” (3-2) vs. “4!” (2-3)
This is anyone’s game. 4! Is feeling good after coming off a win against
No Fear and showing 32 Colts who's boss. White will
need to work hard to turn the disk over on defense and stay away from the
footraces. However, Red has to look out for White's momentum. With their taste
of victory, 4! May prove to be a fource to be reckoned with. Despite a strong
line-up on red, my money is on white. 4! by 1.
“7
Seas” (1-4) vs. “32 Colts” (4-1)
I think this match up speaks for itself. 7 Seas was only able to capture
a win against a predominantly female, practically savage No Fear, and it only
came with a good fight. Black has been a
powerhouse that has worked together time and time again. Their loud cheers will
drown the 7 Seas in their own water. In order to stay afloat, Navy is going to
need to work together to move the disk upfield. Some people say 100 passes is
impossible, but that’s not saying Navy shouldn’t try. Black takes it by 4.
“Golden
Girls” (1-4) vs. “Green Goblin” (2-3)
With Green Goblin’s deep attempts, the Golden Girls should expect to do
some running and jumping. However, if they can put the pressure on Green, Gold
can rest assured that the bombs land a little off target. It's time for the
Golden Girls to get in sync and start moving, and this matchup against a
trigger-happy Green is the perfect opportunity. It's going to be a weak
struggle to the top, but the Golden Girls will be the victorious alliteration.
The Green Goblins chivalrously give the win to the ladies by 3.
Round 2: All-Star Game
These teams are stacked with the best, most enthusiastic, skilled
players in the league. What is most
important here is not who wins, but rather the opportunity for some great
ultimate. Expect to see impossible passes, deep bombs, great aerials, and some
fancy footwork. Personally, I want to
see some great zone defense and equally as good offensive handling. Hammers,
anyone? With the assumption that both teams have been matched up fairly, it's
hard to predict who is going to take this win. But if the number of players who
have listed a nickname on the roster is any indication of self-defined
greatness, it'll be a sweep by Phil's "Nicknames are Intimidating"
Light.
